Rain Song

The simple and pleasant music of the rain,
Earthy and elemental and pure, with
Perfect beat and perfect melody,
Unpolluted by man. This days gentle
Shower, a perfect gift from God.

Springtime songs of soft rain showers
Falling gently in the day, washing
Away the melancholiness of my soul,
Cleansing my heart and spirit and
Nurturing the earth and land.

I meditate upon memories flooding back
As I watch the rain fall.
Thinking and wondering about people
And places and things and dreaming
In my mind to the gentle song of the rain.
