Screams
I hear you screaming in your hospital bed,
Laid up contracted and worn and
Little more than dead.
You can't die, not just yet.
You're fighting your demons
Deep inside, terrorized, perhaps
By your murdered wife.
You're unable to die and go
To the light so you're lingering,
Holding on to life until released
By your unseen and silent monsters.
You scream and you scream,
With no physical reason for your pain.
It must be spiritual and beyond our care.
Make peace with your past
And maybe she'll let you go - just go
To the light, let your life flow,
And slip into the next.
Put an end to your hell
Here on earth , then your screams may fall silent.
Laid up contracted and worn and
Little more than dead.
You can't die, not just yet.
You're fighting your demons
Deep inside, terrorized, perhaps
By your murdered wife.
You're unable to die and go
To the light so you're lingering,
Holding on to life until released
By your unseen and silent monsters.
You scream and you scream,
With no physical reason for your pain.
It must be spiritual and beyond our care.
Make peace with your past
And maybe she'll let you go - just go
To the light, let your life flow,
And slip into the next.
Put an end to your hell
Here on earth , then your screams may fall silent.
