In Your House

It's good to hear laughter in your house again,
For some time now your house has been devoid
Of joy and happiness and the laughter of children.

Children running around and playing and watching TV
Just as we did in the very same house
When we were their age.

We sit in your house and talk and laugh and remember.
We eat and we drink, the beer and wine flow freely
And the shared meal brings back happy memories.

I'm sure our grandparents would approve
And are smiling upon our houses, our families,
And our lives from their place in heaven above.

No longer empty of joy, happiness reigns again.
Another generation shares in the love planted
By our grandparents and we keep the love growing.
