I Love You, But...

I love you, but
I don't like you very much right now.
I don't like the way you dress, act, speak,
Your attitude, the way you live.
Hope you grow up fast,
For your own sake.
Hope and pray you survive it
And learn from it and live
For your own sake.
I love you.

Borrowed

Water flow, grass grow, wind blow,
Our father sky above and
Our mother earth below.
The green of the trees
And the blue of the seas,
We're each connected to it all.
We've only borrowed it
From our children
As our parents borrowed it
From us.
It's up to us if
The water will flow, if
The grass will grow, if
The wind will blow.
It's about our stewardship
Of the trees and the seas,
Of that which doesn't belong to us
But to our children and theirs.

Hummingbird

A hummingbird hovering
In front of my dick
As I stretch, nude,
In my backyard.
It has a bright ruby-red throat
And buzzing wings but
It's the needle-like probe
Of a beak which is getting too close for comfort!
It seems to be focused
On my dick - just hovering there.
I'm amazed by it's beauty,
I don't see a lot of hummingbirds,
And then am understandably relieved
As it buzzes up and flies away.
